Tambopata River Cruise & Sandoval Lake :From the main port, board a motorized canoe and journey along the Tambopata River toward our eco-lodge, deep within the lush rainforest. Along the way, keep your eyes open for vibrant birdlife, monkeys leaping through the treetops, and even caimans along the riverbanks.
Enjoy a box lunch as you take in the ever-changing Amazonian landscape. Upon arrival at the lodge, you’ll be
welcomed with a refreshing drink, meet our friendly team, and settle into a secure and comfortable private room.
Hiking the Tierra Firme Forest :As evening approaches, we’ll set out on a guided walk through primary forest,
home to towering Brazil nut trees. Encounter capuchin monkeys, agoutis, and colorful birds such as toucans,
trogons, and the dazzling blue morpho butterfly. SANDOVAL LAKE LODGE
Night Jungle Tour : After dinner, venture into the nocturnal rainforest. Armed with flashlights, we’ll search for
insects, frogs, tarantulas, and—if we’re lucky—the elusive night monkey or even a wild Amazonian cat. It’s an
immersive sensory experience you’ll never forget.
Day 2: Condemned Lake – Wildlife, Stillness, and Adventure
Wake up at dawn to the sounds of the jungle and enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting out for another day of exploration.
Wildlife Watching at Condemned Lake :We head to the secluded and serene Condemned Lake, an ideal spot
for observing wildlife. On foot and by silent canoe, you’ll have the chance to see:
- Giant river otters
- Turtles and caimans
Tropical birds like the tiger heron, jacana, snowy egret, and the unique hoatzin (also known as the “stinkbird”)
This untouched ecosystem offers fantastic opportunities for wildlife photography and a peaceful connection to nature.
Afternoon Exploration or Relaxation :Return to the lodge for a nourishing lunch and free time. You may relax
by a nearby stream or continue exploring with a guide—or on your own.
Climb Ancient Giants :In the afternoon, get ready for a hands-on adventure: climb ancient Amazonian trees using
natural vines, just like Tarzan. Learn about native medicinal plants and wild orchids once used by Indigenous
communities for healing and spiritual rituals.
Nighttime Canoe Safari :After dinner, embark on a moonlit canoe ride on the Tambopata River in search of
caimans and other nocturnal creatures. This tranquil Amazonian safari is the perfect way to end the day. tour aventure
