Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Sandoval Lake Reserve -Tours Amazonia Jungle Life –
Embark on our journey from Puerto Maldonado to the Sandoval Lake Reserve, immersing yourself in the untouched jungle. Experience the thrill of venturing into a unique natural environment and witness the incredible diversity of wildlife in its original habitat.
Day 2: Sandoval Lake Reserve – Colpa de Palmeras – Canoe Tour
Explore the Sandoval Lake Reserve and head to the breathtaking “Colpa de Palmeras,” where various species of exotic birds gather to enjoy the minerals from the palms. Then, embark on an exciting canoe tour on the lake, admiring the scenic beauty that surrounds it.
Day 3: Sandoval Lake – Canopy Walkway, Zipline, Jungle Hikes
Get ready for adrenaline on this action-packed day. Explore the jungle from the treetops on our Canopy Walkway, and glide through the canopy on an exhilarating Zipline. Continue with jungle hikes, discovering the unique flora and fauna that this ecosystem holds.
Day 4: Jungle Adventure – Hikes – Return to Puerto Maldonado
Immerse yourself once again in the jungle with a series of hikes that will take you to hidden corners and breathtaking landscapes. As we bid farewell to this natural paradise, we return to Puerto Maldonado with hearts full of unforgettable memories.
ITINERARY
Jungle Expediciones Tours 4-Day
Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Sandoval Lake Reserve with Jungle Expediciones Tours.
We warmly welcome you upon your arrival at the airport or terrestrial terminal of Jungle Expediciones Tours in Puerto Maldonado. We will then proceed to our office where you can leave any luggage that is not necessary for the trip. Afterward, you’ll be treated to a refreshing glass of typical fresh fruit juice. Once accepted, we will take our mobility to go directly to the local port of the city (Puerto Capitania) where our motorboat awaits us. There, we will begin our journey along the Upper Madre de Dios. Upon arrival at the lodge in the afternoon, our activity will include visits to Monkey Island, canopy walks, and ziplining. We’ll return to our lodge for dinner after a night walk. Accommodation will be provided in your private room with a bathroom and shower.
Day 2: Sandoval Lake Reserve – Colpa de Palmeras – Canoe Tour with Jungle Expediciones Tours.
Today, we will rise early before dawn to have a quick breakfast. Our motorboat will take us to visit Monkey Island, after which we will register at the entrance of the Sandoval Lake Reserve. From there, we’ll embark on a long 5-kilometer trek (approximately 1 hour and a half). A canoe will be waiting for us to paddle. We will enter through a canyon (15-minute interval) and then navigate to the center of Lake Sandoval, where our guide will explain the diversity of species living in the Amazon. After settling into our comfortable rooms at the lodge, we’ll have a view of the Sandoval Lake Reserve. We’ll return by canoe for dinner, followed by a night walk in the Sandoval Lake Reserve to observe nocturnal creatures. You’ll return to your accommodation in the Maloka lodge with a private bathroom and shower.
Day 3: Jungle Expediciones Tours – Canopy Walkway, Zipline, Hikes.
Another early wake-up awaits us today as we explore the surroundings of Lake Sandoval, where numerous palm trees grow in the water, creating a swampy area known as the Macaw Palm Tree. This area attracts various species of macaws and other parrots for fruit consumption. We’ll return to the lodge for breakfast. Later, we’ll take a trip to observe the impressive flora and fauna of the Sandoval Lake Reserve, including monkeys, deer, wild boars, tapirs, or spectacled bears, to name a few mammals. After lunch, you’ll have free time to rest or enjoy a refreshing swim in Lake Sandoval. Then, we’ll embark on a canoe to a better spot to appreciate a beautiful sunset over the lake. At 7 p.m., we’ll return to the lodge for dinner, followed by caiman spotting under the moonlight.
Day 4: Adventure Travels – Hikes – Puerto Maldonado:
After breakfast, we’ll board a canoe to navigate Lake Sandoval and then walk back to the checkpoint. From there, we’ll continue sailing upstream on the Madre de Dios River by motorboat, heading towards Puerto Maldonado. You’ll collect your luggage at our office and then be transferred to the airport or terrestrial terminal. This concludes our adventure travel service.

The Canopy walk is built in the crowns of the largest trees that have a height of 100 to 130 meters and each tree has a maximum age of 500 years 600. The canopy is a setting to enjoy the majestic landscape of the Amazon from the top You will be able to take the best photographs and see the diversity of birds that go out every morning in search of their food and some species of monkeys that are sleeping and others that are eating the fruits of these giant trees.
