Arrive at Puerto Maldonado airport or bus terminal.

Transfer to the Amazon Travel office to store excess luggage.

Day 1: Puerto Maldonado to Amazonia Jungle Tours

Warm Welcome: Upon your arrival at Puerto Maldonado airport or coach terminal, our Representative will greet

you warmly and escort you to our office for baggage storage.

River Journey: Board a motorboat at the local port and embark on a scenic journey down the Madre de Dios River. Keep an eye out for diverse wildlife along the riverbanks, including turtles, birds, monkeys, lizards, and caimans.

Foot Journey: Arrive at the Sandoval Lake Reserve checkpoint and begin a 5-kilometer trek through the tropical

jungle, immersing yourself in the sights and sounds of the Amazon.

Canoe Exploration: Reach Sandoval Lake and embark on a canoe ride across its serene waters to the Lodge.

Wildlife Encounter: After settling in and enjoying lunch, return to the lake for an exploration of its unique inhabitants, such as giant river otters, black caimans, and colorful bird species.

Evening Adventure: Return to the lodge for dinner, followed by a guided evening caiman observation excursion to

observe nocturnal wildlife.

Day 2: Adventure Canopy Walkway and Zipline to Puerto Maldonado

  • Early morning, witness the captivating sunrise at Lake Sandoval, surrounded by flourishing palm trees in the water.
    Explore the Macaw Palm Tree area (Collpa de Palmeras), where various species of macaws and parrots feed on palm tree sawdust rich in essential minerals.
    Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast.
    After breakfast, paddle back to the lodge and then hike to the entrance point of the Sandoval Lake reserve.
    Board an outboard boat to embark on adventure tours.
    Experience the canopy walkway, a 40-meter hanging bridge offering views of diverse bird species and the Amazon.
