What is “collpeo”?

“Collpeo” consists of these birds ingesting clay from the ravine. Although sometimes you can see groups of macaws at other times of the day, generally these encounters are less frequent and the groups are smaller.

Why is it so special?

This behavior of the birds is one of the most fascinating natural spectacles you can witness. It is believed that the clay contains essential salts and minerals that are fundamental in the diet of the birds.
