Your day begins with a peaceful 30-minute boat ride along the river, followed by a discovery walk through lush forests, where you can spot monkeys and other wildlife.

Upon reaching the lake, we will board a catamaran to explore its serene waters for approximately two hours.

Here you can delight in the sight of families of giant otters, lurking alligators and spectacular birds such as the shansho, toucans, macaws and herons, among others.

Piranha fishing at the end of the tour offers an exciting experience, where you can admire these fascinating creatures in their natural habitat rainforest wildlife .

The highlight of this experience is the stunning panorama offered by the lake surrounded by a diverse and lush forest.

Itinerary Amazon Expedition: 5 Days

Day 1: Puerto Maldonado to Tambopata Trip

Amazon Expedition  -Pick-up from Puerto Maldonado airport and transfer to the main office.
Visit the Puerto Maldonado food market for local products.
Private transportation to the Infierno Native Community.
Enjoy a typical lunch called “bijao” and a refreshing aphrodisiac juice upon arrival.
Accommodation in private rooms.
Evening walk to a 48-meter tower for birdwatching and sunset photography.
Boat ride with a reflector for nocturnal wildlife observation.
Return to the hostel for overnight stay.

Day 2: Tres Chimbadas Lake Amazon Expedition .

Breakfast followed by a boat ride and a 1.5-kilometer walk to Tres Chimbadas Lake.
Catamaran tour of the lake surrounded by aguaje palm trees.
Wildlife observation including Hoatzín, monkeys, macaws, and black caimans.
Visit to a parrot clay lick after lunch.
Tour of the Botanical Garden of Ñape and practice archery.
Night walk along lodge trails for nocturnal wildlife observation.
Return to the hostel for overnight stay.

Day 3: Tambopata Amazing – Parrot Clay Lick

Early morning boat ride to a parrot clay lick for bird observation.
Walk to a mammal clay lick to observe mammals gathering to eat clay.
Guided walk to learn about the flora and fauna of the area.
Visit to an organic fruit garden after lunch.
Night activity in the primary forest.
Return to the lodge for overnight stay.

Day 4: Visit to the Native Community of Infierno

Visit the main house of the Ese Eja native community.
Tour of the museum exhibiting Ese Eja culture and artifacts.
Artisan house visit to learn about traditional crafts.
Lunch at the hostel followed by a walk to a viewpoint over the Tambo Pata River.
Opportunities for wildlife observation and learning about different forest types.
Rest in private rooms at the hostel.

Day 5: Puerto Maldonado – Airport to Bus Terminal

Breakfast followed by a short jungle walk.
Pack belongings and embark on a river boat down the Tambopata River to the native community.
Private transportation back to Puerto Maldonado city.
Transfer to the airport or land terminal for departure.

Tambopata Peru Nature – 4 Days

Tambopata Peru Nature – Getting there is relatively straightforward. To reach the reserve from Lima or Cusco, you must take a plane to Puerto Maldonado, the capital of Madre de Dios. There are daily flights of 90 and 30 minutes, respectively, at least three times a day. From there, you’ll need to travel to the community of Infierno, which is 25 km away. Alternatively, you can opt for a 45 km boat ride, which takes approximately two hours.

Day 1: Arrival and Immersion in Tambopata Peru Nature .

Tambopata Peru Nature  –Arrival and Registration: Upon arrival at Puerto Maldonado airport, our professional guide will greet you and assist 

with registration. We’ll then visit the local market to experience and taste authentic Amazonian products.

Journey to Tambopata Infierno: After the market visit, we’ll embark on a journey to the Tambopata Infierno Native

Community Port. Along the way, keep an eye out for diverse wildlife such as turtles, capybaras, and alligators.

Exploring the Jungle: Following lunch at the lodge, we’ll embark on a jungle hike to acquaint ourselves with the flora and fauna of the region. Look out for medicinal plants and ancient trees as we delve deeper into the Amazon.

Caiman Spotting: After dinner, we’ll venture out on a nighttime boat excursion to search for caimans along the riverbanks, guided by the glint of their eyes in the darkness.

Day 2: Canopy Tower, Macaw Clay Lick, and Tres Chimbadas Lake

Canopy Tower: After breakfast, we’ll journey upstream by boat and then hike to the Canopy Tower, offering panoramic views of the rainforest canopy. Marvel at the birdlife and enjoy a stunning Amazon sunset.

Macaw Clay Lick: Witness the spectacular sight of macaws gathering at clay walls to feed, a fascinating behavior essential for their diet and health.

Tres Chimbadas Lake: A serene walk takes us to Tres Chimbadas Lake, a haven for wildlife such as giant river otters and various bird species. Explore the surroundings and soak in the tranquil atmosphere.

Nighttime Exploration: After returning to the lodge for lunch and some leisure time, we’ll embark on a jungle walk to

observe nocturnal creatures. Conclude the day with a meditation session amidst the jungle sounds.

Day 3: Anaconda Search and Piranha Fishing

Jungle Expedition: Rise early for breakfast before setting off on a four-hour jungle trek, traversing different forest types. Keep watch for birds, monkeys, and other wildlife along the way.

Anaconda Search: After lunch in the lodge, we’ll venture into the “Aguajal” palm forest in search of anacondas, exploring both the shoreline and the water vegetation.

Piranha Fishing: Test your skills at traditional piranha fishing, guided by our expert. Learn about these fascinating fish species and their role in the Amazon ecosystem.

Evening Activities: Enjoy dinner at the lodge followed by nighttime activities in the jungle, with opportunities to spot nocturnal insects, amphibians, and mammals.

Day 4: Return to Puerto Maldonado

Visit a Local Family: After breakfast, we’ll visit a local family to learn about their culture and way of life, participating

in cultural exchanges and observing traditional crafts.

Cultural House and Casa Artesanal: Engage in a cultural exchange at the Cultural House and admire intricate crafts

at Casa Artesanal, showcasing the region’s artistry.

Return Journey: We’ll then journey back to Puerto Maldonado,

where you’ll be transferred to the airport or bus terminal for your onward journey, concluding our unforgettable Tambopata Peru Nature adventure

In this trip to the Peruvian Amazon to Jungle Trips, we will have the opportunity to visit the community of Infierno.

Infierno is one of the three Ese’eja communities in Peru.

Here, we will learn about their cultures, languages, traditions, and the craftsmanship they have maintained for many years.

During this tour, we will observe the clay licks of macaws, parrots, parakeets, and some mammals.

We will also enjoy hikes through the tropical rainforest, primary jungle, and untouched virgin jungle.

A visit to Lake Tres Chimbadas on a catamaran will allow us to observe the wildlife up close, such as turtles, caimans, otters, birds, and different species of native and medicinal plants.

 

Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Tambopata Infierno Native Community .

Reception by your guide at the terminal or airport.

Visit the Puerto Maldonado market for regional Amazonian products.

Amazonian safari: Travel by vehicle to the Native Hell Community.

Board an outboard boat to journey up the Tambopata River, spotting wildlife.

Arrival at the lodge in Tambopata National Reserve, welcomed with a jungle drink.

Lunch followed by a guided jungle exploration, learning about medicinal plants and wildlife.

Dinner at the lodge.
