Your day begins with a peaceful 30-minute boat ride along the river, followed by a discovery walk through lush forests, where you can spot monkeys and other wildlife.

Upon reaching the lake, we will board a catamaran to explore its serene waters for approximately two hours.

Here you can delight in the sight of families of giant otters, lurking alligators and spectacular birds such as the shansho, toucans, macaws and herons, among others.

Itinerary Amazon Expedition: 5 Days

Day 1: Puerto Maldonado to Tambopata Trip

Amazon Expedition  -Pick-up from Puerto Maldonado airport and transfer to the main office.
Visit the Puerto Maldonado food market for local products.
Private transportation to the Infierno Native Community.
Enjoy a typical lunch called “bijao” and a refreshing aphrodisiac juice upon arrival.
Accommodation in private rooms.
Evening walk to a 48-meter tower for birdwatching and sunset photography.
Boat ride with a reflector for nocturnal wildlife observation.
Return to the hostel for overnight stay.

Day 2: Tres Chimbadas Lake Amazon Expedition .

Breakfast followed by a boat ride and a 1.5-kilometer walk to Tres Chimbadas Lake.

Wildlife observation including Hoatzín, monkeys, macaws, and black caimans.

Day 3: Tambopata Amazing – Parrot Clay Lick

Visit to an organic fruit garden after lunch.
Night activity in the primary forest.
Return to the lodge for overnight stay.

Day 4: Visit to the Native Community of Infierno

Visit the main house of the Ese Eja native community.
Tour of the museum exhibiting Ese Eja culture and artifacts.
Artisan house visit to learn about traditional crafts.
Lunch at the hostel followed by a walk to a viewpoint over the Tambo Pata River.
Opportunities for wildlife observation and learning about different forest types.
Rest in private rooms at the hostel.

Day 5: Puerto Maldonado – Airport to Bus Terminal

Breakfast followed by a short jungle walk.
Pack belongings and embark on a river boat down the Tambopata River to the native community.
Private transportation back to Puerto Maldonado city.

ITINERARY

Amazon Expedition 5-Day

Day 1- Puerto Maldonado to tambopata  Trip.

Today I pick you up at the airport in the city of Puerto Maldonado and transfer to our main office. Where we will leave the large luggage and take the necessary things for the trip. Then we will travel in our private vehicle for 50 minutes to the Native Community called Infierno. Where we will have a visit to some places of interest to learn about their ancestral culture. During the trip we will enjoy a delicious typical lunch from the area called “bijao”, a typical jungle plant, used to wrap food and which has a unique flavor.

Upon arrival at the hostel we will be greeted with a soft drink, aphrodisiac juice. Accommodation in your private rooms Lugo we will have a 30 minute walk from the hostel to the tower – which has a height of 48 meters we will climb to the platform. From there we will have a panoramic view and observe the different species of birds such as toucans, scarlet macaws, parrots, monkeys, birds of prey among other species. We will take the best photographs and it will be a beautiful spectacle that nature offers us the red sun on a magical sunset. . After dinner we will take our boat and a reflector. in search of some species such as caiman, birds and some monkeys around. Return to the hostel to spend the night in your private rooms

Day2: Tres Chimbadas Lake Expedition.

Today after enjoying breakfast we will take the 30 minute boat and then we will take the 1 kilometer and a half walk to the lake then we will take the catamaran to tour the lake having impressive views that are surrounded by beautiful aguaje palm trees, we will have the opportunity to observe a variety of wildlife; species such as Hoatzín,

monkeys, macaws, black caiman, flying parrots and if we are lucky we will observe a family of river otters (Pteronoura brasilienses), a species that is in danger of extinction. This diversity of species is found in the Tambopata National Reserve.
Upon returning from this activity to the lodge we will pass by a parrot clay lick, having the possibility of seeing the macaws collapsing.

After lunch we will visit the Botanical Garden of Ñape
Where we will take the tour of the medicinal Garden, which is located very close to the Hostel where our ethnobotanical guide will share with us his ancestral knowledge of the preparation of natural medicines such as ayahusca, until now few have this knowledge of putting the good use of these medicinal plants such as; Ayahuasca, Chacruna, Para para, Chuchuhuasi, Uña de gato, Ajo sacha, etc. which are used and prepared by the residents of the community especially to cure diseases, such as rheumatism, colds, malaria, diabetes, fever, gastritis, cough, anemia, etc.

The guide will share his knowledge about the ancient Ese Ejas, how they made their bow and arrow with seeds, roots and vines from the forest and used them to hunt some animals in the area as sustenance for the home and provide support to the couple for feeding their children. Day 3:Tambopata Amazing – Parrot Clay Lick.

We will get up very early and take the boat approximately 20 minutes from the lodge to the clay lick where, which comes to make a special place to observe dozens of birds coming every morning, they gather for this fluttering ceremony before starting the culpeo. Which consists of ingesting clay from the clay lick, after 20 to 25 minutes they will go away. because these birds eat this clay and animals also do it to complement the salt in their diet since far from any ocean, there is very little sodium in the water or food.

To get to this place we have to walk approximately 1 hour from the hostel, which is a hiding place for observation.
Mammals also gather to eat this salty clay, they do not do it at the same time as parrots or macaws. They do it at any time during the day or night, and they are much more reserved and less routine.

It is very difficult to see these mammals unless you sit here for 24 hours.
The mammals that come to the clay lick are the huanganas, sajinos, deer, agouti, squirrel, tapir. During the walk the guide will explain some species of plants and trees that reach a height of 80 to 100 meters and are more than 500 years old that were not touched by the hand of humanity. Upon returning to the hostel we can find some mammals during the walk.
Visit to the organic fruit garden
Today after lunch we will board a motorized boat again for approximately 30 minutes to visit the farm of the Native Community of Infierno, where they cultivate traditional agriculture that is very sustainable. We will take a tour to identify the different species of plants that are typical native to the Region; As we can mention the cocona, sacha papa, dale-dale, yucca, star apple, pineapple, soursop, zapote, pacay, guaba, silk plantain, passion fruit among others that we will perceive from the entrance to this local farm of the community.
Return to the lodge after dinner, night activity in the primary forest.

Day4 :Visit to the Native Community of Infierno

The Ese Eja are one of the last nomadic tribes left in the Peruvian Amazon that have maintained their customs for many years.

Today will be a very special day to know and learn the Ese eja of the main house of the native community that will be open for you. where we will visit the museum, which exhibits panels that explain the Ese Eja worldview, such as clothing, ancient ceramics and stone instruments, as well as work tools.

This house of artisans: will teach us about the artisan tradition of their community and what object comes to symbolize it. They continue to recreate their own typical Amazonian crafts such as the woven tamishi baskets that are vines grown from the jungle and the wood carvings that look real, which continue to maintain their customs and their Esa Eja heritage very much alive.

After this activity, return to the hostel to enjoy lunch.
