ITINERARY

Trail Peru -Lake Cocococha

Trail Peru -Lake Cocococha Tambopata: It is located on the right bank of the Tambopata River within the  Trail Peru Lake Cocococha Tambopata National Reserve, about 70 km from Puerto Maldonado. It is accessed from Puerto Maldonado Road to the native community Infierno, following three hours up the Tambopata River to the checkpoint and surveillance La Torre and concluding with a walk for about two hours. Cocococha The lake has an exceptional scenic beauty in the jungle, has an elongated shape, the area is about 47.14 hectares. and the color of the water is dark by the high concentration of organic matter contained in the Peruvian jungle green. It has a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna, highlighting the presence of otters pumagarzas, collpas blue and yellow macaws and black caimans in the lake.

This lake is one of the few breeding and nesting of a large community of blue heron, difficult bird to observe elsewhere.

Tours  Tambopata:

Easily accessible from the post La Torre (5 minutes downriver in chug) Income is a trail that is located on the campus of Explorer’s Inn. Although formally the trail is not exclusive, currently is used only for this tour operator and has several routes: Ant, Tapir, Main and Panchita.

This settlement, located along the Baawaja or Tambopata River is formed by a segment of population that identifies as baawajakuiñaji u “Baawaja originating in the river.”

It has been recognized as native community since April 20, 1976; The families also live mestizos, a fact that has been the cause of many internal conflicts. The town is located on both banks of the river and includes the territory between the village of Chonta and oxbow lake, about three laps down to the mouth of the creek La Torre.
