This 5-day Tambopata adventure combines the famous Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick with rainforest trekking, wildlife observation, kayaking, fishing, farm visits, and exciting nighttime excursions.
Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Tambopata Lodge
Upon your arrival in Puerto Maldonado, our representative will meet you at the airport or bus terminal. We will wait for up to 30 minutes after your scheduled arrival, holding a sign with your name.
We will then transfer you to our office, where you can leave your heavy luggage before beginning your journey into the Tambopata rainforest.
Travel by private vehicle for approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes to the river port. From there, board our speedboat and begin navigating upstream along the Tambopata River toward the lodge.
During the boat journey, keep your eyes open for wildlife along the riverbanks, including turtles, caimans, capybaras, and numerous species of birds. With some luck, you may even spot a jaguar.
