Embark on a unique adventure at Sandoval Lake, one of the most spectacular natural destinations in the Peruvian Amazon.
During this 2-day tour, you will walk along a rainforest trail surrounded by pristine tropical vegetation and extraordinary biodiversity. The adventure continues with a traditional rowing canoe excursion across the lake, famous for its abundant wildlife, peaceful waters, and breathtaking scenery.
From giant river otters and colorful tropical birds to towering palm trees and mysterious nighttime sounds, every moment offers an opportunity to connect with the natural world.
Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Sandoval Lake Reserve
Morning:
Pickup at Puerto Maldonado Airport or bus terminal.
Transfer to our office for registration and storage of luggage that is not needed during the tour.
Board a motorized boat and begin navigating along the Madre de Dios River.
During the Day:
Observe different species of mammals and birds along the riverbanks.
Arrive at the Sandoval Lake Reserve checkpoint and complete the entrance registration.
Hike approximately 3 km (about 1 hour and 30 minutes) through the tropical rainforest to a small dock.
Continue by traditional rowing canoe across Sandoval Lake, enjoying its beautiful natural surroundings.
Afternoon:
Arrive at the lodge and receive your private room.
Enjoy lunch at the lodge.
Explore the lake in search of giant river otters, caimans, birds, and other Amazonian wildlife.
Sunset:
Enjoy sunset photography and capture the warm rays of sunlight illuminating the rainforest.
Return to the lodge for dinner.
Night:
Join your naturalist guide for nighttime wildlife observation, searching for caimans, birds, and monkeys.
Return to the lodge and relax in your private room.
Day 2: Peru Adventure Tour – Palm Macaw Clay Lick – Puerto Maldonado – Airport
Morning:
Wake up to the beautiful songs of Amazonian birds.

Hike back to the reserve checkpoint.
Board a motorized boat and navigate along the Madre de Dios River toward Puerto Maldonado.
Afternoon:
Arrive in Puerto Maldonado.
Collect your luggage from our office.
