INFORMATION MACAW CLAY LICK TAMBOPATA RESERVE CHUNCHO .

Despite having a wide geographic range, macaws have evolved specific nesting, foraging, and congregating niches, making them very vulnerable to habitat change resulting from deforestation, land development, and changing ecosystems to macaw clay chuncho lodge.

Different species of macaws inhabit ecosystems including palm swamps, savannah, lowland and upland rainforests, macaw  clay lick chuncho yet in all cases macaws are very dependent on their ecosystem because they have evolved specific nest niches and feeding associations. Scarlet macaws in the Madre de Dios region of Peru are no exception: the single most paramount factor for the macaw population is a mature primary rainforest where the macaws can nest and forage in peru nature ( chuncho lodge ).

Scarlet macaws have evolved to nest in mature tree cavities with preference to the genus Dipteryx, offering height protection from predators and hard, slow rotting wood. In addition, scarlet macaws, which mate for life, use the same nest site to fledge many generations in macaw peru nature  rainforest  ( chuncho lodge ).

Thus without a mature forest, scarlet macaws clay chuncho are physically incapable of breeding because of lack of suitable nesting sites. Similarly, the foraging behavior depends of mature forests where macaws can eat fruits and palm seeds. Interestingly, the seeds that macaws eat are toxic – they contain chemicals such as tannins and alkaloids that ward off insects from destroying the seeds this birds  ( chuncho lodge ) peru nature .

Macaws are seed destroyers, and they overcome the toxic chemicals by ingesting clay from the riverbank, or clay lick, which neutralizes the toxic effects. Just as in nesting sites, macaws are very particular about clay lick sites where they will congregate, preferring hard clay with high sodium content in this clay lick chuncho peru nature ( chuncho lodge ) .

Analysis of each subsequent macaw behavioral trait offers new insight to the particular environmental factors that make macaws very susceptible to ecological change. Scarlet Macaws peru nature are particularly vulnerable because of their reliance on mature trees for nesting, where other species may utilize other breeding strategies. In all cases, macaws depend heavily on specific ecological conditions, and even slight changes to their environment can have massive impact on a population – macaw clay lick chuncho peru nature ( chuncho lodge)  .

Macaw Clay lick – Tambopata – Chuncho – lodge

Macaws are key areas for conservation and tourism in southeastern Peru macaw clay lick chuncho . Previous studies by members of the Tambopata Macaw Project  chuncho have shown that the area of southeastern Peru macaw clay lick chuncho peru nature has a high abundance of bird and mammalian collpas and more bird collpas than any part of South America and probably the world (Brightsmith et al., 2009, Lee et al., 2009). These collpas are visited by several species of large animals such as macaws, parrots, tapirs, monkeys (Alouatta and Ateles), huanganas, sajinos, deer, etc., in their desire to consume land as a supplement to their diet (Kyle 2001, Brightsmith Et al., 2009). peru nature Amazon tambopata reserve, To himself, big cats and other predators also frequent them a lot in their attempt to get prey. Many of these animals are important tourist attractions in the region as well as important sources of animal protein for local residents (Redford 1992). In turn, many of these species play important roles in the ecosystem, such as dispersing seeds and regulating populations through predation. Macaws  chuncho with our studies also show us that the vast majority of macaws in Madre de Dios are not being exploited by humans (Brightsmith et al., 2009). This fact, puts us in a position unbeatable from the point of view of conservation in this area peru nature , as it gives us the opportunity to study collpas in their natural state and thus be able to decide in a better way which we need to preserve in its pristine form and which we can manage sustainably For ecological and anthropological benefit. Sandoval lake wild  peru nature ( chuncho lodge ) .

Because of the importance of  macaws clay lick chuncho lodge  for the area and the fact that Madre de Dios is the epicenter of worldwide abundance and diversity of collpas, it is imperative that SERNANP peru nature ( chuncho lodge) and other conservation entities working in the area have a protection plan And sustainable management of it and consider them within one of its highest strategic priorities. Even more so, the urgency of monitoring animal populations and their interactions increases because of the completion of the construction of the Interoceanic Highway. Mapping the collpas in the Tambopata National Reserve peru nature ( chuncho lodge ) (RNTAMB) peru nature chuncho lodge  and the Bahuaja Sonene National Park peru nature  ( chuncho lodge ) (PNBS) peru nature  ( chuncho lodge ) will allow specialists to plan joint management and monitoring strategies of the collpas as well as the animal populations of “flags” species that Use them. The purpose of this project is to determine the abundance of collpas in different sectors of the reserve peru nature . To do this, we present a mapping of the reserve’s main collpas in order to provide a base of collpas that would make it possible to design a monitoring plan for the largest, most used macaws (animal or human), more at risk and More accessible macaws.
