Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Monkey Island and Nature Walk -Amazon Peru Sandoval Lake .
The adventure in the Peruvian Amazon begins with an exciting itinerary that is designed to see the most natural
wonders of this Peruvian Amazon region.
Pickup and Transfer: Upon arrival at the airport or bus station in Puerto Maldonado, where our team is waiting
to receive you and then transfer to our office where you can register and leave any additional luggage that is not necessary during the tour.
River trip: We will board a motorized boat to take a trip down the ALTO MADRE DE DIOS river. Observing different species on the edge of the river will be an exciting trip.
Arrival at Our hostel: Which is located in the heart of the Amazon jungle that offers our clients a cozy covering.
Lunch: We will enjoy a delicious lunch that will introduce you to the typical flavors of the area and an aphrodisiac
soft drink that will give you energy for your tours.
Visit Monkey Island: we will visit Monkey Island where you will observe different species that live in their natural habitat for many years.
Return and dinner: Return to the lodge to enjoy dinner and relax.
Night Activity. We will observe nocturnal species that usually go out at night to marry their prey and during the day they rest.
Day 2: Exploration of Lake Sandoval in our paddle canoe, observation of giant river otter and stay at a lodge
We will explore walking in the middle of the jungle and around Lake Sandoval, finding diverse wildlife and the unique beauty of this tropical jungle.
Morning preparation: Today After breakfast we will dive into the deepest part of Lake Sandoval, entering the main part of this Tambopata National Reserve.
Reserve Entrance Walk: Embark on a guided walk through the rainforest, arriving at Mejía Lodge strategically located near Lake Sandoval.
Lake Expedition: Take a canoe exploration of Lake Sandoval and see wildlife such as giant river otters and black
caimans, turtles, birds and monkeys around the lake.
Dinner and Night Activity: Return to the lodge for dinner, followed by a night excursion in our rowing canoe to observe nocturnal wildlife.
Night at the Lodge: rest in their respective rooms surrounded by the sounds of the jungle.
Day 3: Lake Sandoval to Puerto Maldonado – Palmeras Clay Lick.
Last hours in the Amazon photographic shots of an incredible experience before leaving this charming ecosystem.
Very early excursion in the morning: Visit to the palm clay lick to witness parrots, some macaws and colorful
birds feasting on the cortesa and fruits of this palm grove that are very rich in minerals.
Breakfast and return: we will enjoy a delicious breakfast before embarking – return along the same path where
our outboard boat awaits us to travel upriver back to Puerto Maldonado.
