Tours Day 1.
Puerto Maldonado to Amazon Trails Reserve.
Upon your arrival at the airport or bus station, our team will be there to greet you and assist with your transfer to our office at Amazon Trails. Here, you’ll complete the necessary formalities for your expedition. Afterward, we’ll proceed to the port captaincy for the next part of your adventure.
From the port captaincy start the amazon trails , we’ll embark on a scenic boat ride that lasts approximately one hour, leading us to our lodge. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing juice made from local fruits, a true taste of our region’s flavors. Following this, you’ll be shown to your respective rooms for check-in and some well-deserved rest.
Once you’re ready, the real adventure begins. You’ll be introduced to a two-hour guided walk through the dense tropical forest, led by an expert local guide. This guided trek will take you along our well-established trails, where
species of wild animals such as toucans, orioles,
macaws, monkeys, snakes, butterflies, etc. You will have the opportunity to experience
the magic of our Amazon jungle trails that is within the Tambopata National Reserve
(278,000 thousand protected hectares). After lunch, we visit the “Monkey Island”,
located in front of our lodge across the Madre de Dios River where we will find
different species as the family of capuchin monkeys living on the island and return to our jungle Lodge trails .
At night we will go in search of white alligators usually found on sandbars in the Madre de Dios River

As night falls, we’ll embark on a quest to find white alligators, which are often found on sandbars along the Madre de Dios River. Don’t forget to bring a flashlight for this exciting endeavor. Additionally, keep an eye out for the capybara, the world’s largest rodent, which can weigh up to 60 kilos. After our nocturnal exploration, we’ll return to the lodge for a delicious dinner, followed by a well-deserved rest.

Amazon Trails -Explorer Flora – Fauna to Puerto Maldonado .
After a satisfying breakfast, get ready for another day of exploration in the heart of the dense tropical jungle. Today’s adventure involves a 3-kilometer hike through the lush wilderness, leading you towards the Reserve, which is renowned as one of the largest piranha habitats within the National Reserve Tambo.
Upon reaching the Reserve, we will embark on a tranquil rowing boat journey. This serene boat ride will provide you with the opportunity to admire a diverse array of bird species and various types of monkeys. Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of the shansho, cormorant, jacana, puma heron, vultures, howler monkeys, monk monkeys, black capuchins, tamarins, and even sloths. A particularly special encounter might involve the family of giant otters, which can reach almost two meters in length. These fascinating creatures are endangered and hold a unique place in the Amazon’s ecosystem. Additionally, be on the lookout for the largest alligators, some measuring over 4 meters long.
After this engaging boat ride, we’ll return to the lodge where you can enjoy a traditional lunch, savoring the flavors of the region.
In the afternoon, we’ll make our way back to the city. Our team will arrange for your transfer to the bus station, marking the end of your remarkable journey through the Amazon.
